'Anything' goes to Goldwyn

Rose, McCarthy star in tune pic focused on love triangle

HOLLYWOOD -- Samuel Goldwyn Films will handle U.S. distribution on "Anything but Love," a musical romance directed by tyro helmer Robert Cary.
Isabel Rose and Andrew McCarthy star in the pic. Story of a contemporary love triangle is shot in the style and with the sensibility of Technicolor musicals.

Rose and Cary wrote the film, which is produced by Aimee Schoof and Isen Robbins. Pic is set for a fall release.

"Anything but Love," which made the rounds at the 2003 Palm Springs and Philadelphia film festivals under the title "Standard Time," bears a thematic similarity to the current 20th Century Fox release "Down With Love," starring Rene Zellweger and Ewan McGregor. That film was released last Friday and has earned $7.6 million.

Samuel Goldwyn currently has "Raising Victor Vargas" and "He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not" in release.
